Nutrition and Services for Seniors serves the older residents of Jefferson and Hardin Counties with low cost noon meals, transportation, and more. Seniors can enjoy meals in a friendly atmosphere and participate in a variety of activities the centers have to offer.  You need only be 60 years of age or older to enjoy the food and fellowship at one of our nutrition dining sites.  Participants are requested to make reservations one day in advance.

Each dining center offers Seniors a unique blend of companionship, activities and special events. Participants can be creative and imaginative while working with arts and crafts in the company of friends.  Games, dancing, exercise, and bingo are available at various centers.  A suggested contribution for each meal has been established however, participant may contribute any amount they are financially able to give.  No one will be turned away if unable to contribute.

Transportation Service

Low cost transportation is available for seniors in North Jefferson and Hardin counties for medical appointments, dialysis, prescriptions, groceries, and other needed stops.  Advance reservations must be made for rides, with priority given to medical appointments.

Transportation is provided to senior dining centers throughout the two county area by Nutrition & Services for Seniors.  This allows seniors the mobility to attend all activities, functions and the noon meal.  A suggested contribution of $1.00 may be given for each ride.

Other Services Available

ENSURE is available by the case by ordering in advance on a monthly basis.
CareNet is a personal emergency response system installed in the home.  Simply pressing a button will notify a responder in case of an emergency. For more information, call (409)892-4455 or (409)722-7782
